    Festive Frocks

    Time to frock out!

Dressing for the holidays is most merry, especially since this season embraces vintage appeal. Shiny fabrics, fake fur and lady-like trims create elegant looks for holiday parties and late-night soirees. Add a pair of high heels or strappy sandals. Show some skin. Don’t be afraid of color. Accent with accessories. And voila…let the celebrations begin.

    Accessory Tips:
      - Glamorous gold jewelry makes a comeback
      - Wear necklaces with color and texture
      - Stack rings
      - Slip on cuff or charm bracelets
      - Choose multi-faceted gemstones to catch the light
      - Carry a snakeskin or embellished clutch

    LBD
The “Little Black Dress” is always a classic, but there’s no need to be be conventional! Choose from a slew of sassy silhouettes. Australian designer Kit Willow offers her edgy WILLOW style with fabric layering, lace cap sleeves and zipper hardware, which she pairs with a bold bib necklace and her signature footwear of the season, thigh-high, second skin boots with fetish heels balanced by a layered platform. Rebecca Taylor’s Black Crinkled Chiffon Sleeveless Dress is sexy, sweet and simple. Stack some cocktail rings, grab a clutch, throw on peek-toe pumps and you’ll be the belle of the ball.

    Grey Skies
Charcoal and silver set the overall trend for base-colored dresses accented with vibrant, eye-catching hues! Rebecca Taylor has two looks that’ll “steel” the show. First, her Silver Satin Socialite Dress--the silky v-neck with shoulder florets is subtle yet sophisticated. A strappy metallic sandal, bold cuff and embellished clutch complete the ensemble. Next, she weaves teal blue and silver together in her Strapless Metallic Bow Party Dress in Kingfisher. Platform pumps are the perfect shoes for the look.

    Show Your Metal
LA-based designer Melissa Coker likes her Wren girls to show off their personality. Here are two options: 1) a black metallic tweed swing coat paired with a satin chiffon, metallic, high-waisted mini with pleats. Add a black v-neck tank and a jaunty hat. 2) Opt for a contrast lined blazer with sequin lapels, satin chiffon, metallic, full miniskirt and silky tee; layer on chunky necklaces. Patterned tights and ankle boots or suede slingbacks give both outfits a young and fun attitude.

    Flirty and Feminine
Soft, light fabrics are popping up all over Hollywood red carpets. Varying waistlines flatter a wide variety of figures, allowing woman everywhere to feel flirty and feminine. The biggest trend? One shoulder looks! Rebecca Taylor’s Violet Midnight Gardens One-Shoulder Dress is a pretty print that works for a night out or a holiday party! Be bold: Add purple tights and gemstone earrings. Prefer your florals more subdued? Taylor’s Strapless Satin Flower Dress in Raven is just the stunner you need. Fabric florets trim the hemline. Go gold with your accessories.

    Print It!
There’s a shift (dress) in the air! Resort chic is what Lilly Pulitzer is all about and this season the brand is going back to its roots with the iconic shift dress! What the Shell Patch -- from their new Originals line -- is vintage-inspired and meant to be a conversation piece. A fun-in-the-sun print patched together with lace trim embroidery down the center. Accessorize with pink or green. In the Slim is a cap sleeve, teal blue dress (with lime green, of course!) that also boasts lace trim. It’s inspired by a 1960’s magazine photo shoot by noted photographer Slim Aarons that featured the likes of the Kennedys, Vanderbilts and Rockefellers. Put on the ritz!
