    November 2009 Festive Frocks Designers

    Lilly Pulitzer

Such humble beginnings! A simple shift dress -- one with a gloriously colorful print for the purpose of hiding fruit juice stains. Lilly started her juice stand and later her clothing company for a reason that embodies what Palm Beach stands for - she started it for fun. Over the last five decades it has become so much more--a lifestyle brand (women, men and kid’s clothing, shoes, accessories, home) rooted in casual elegance and resort chic. Seasonally sexy, the attitude is always vibrant. Saturated hues and bright prints are signature. From sporty to sophisticated, party to play, Lilly sees life in pink, green and all colors of the rainbow. In addition to 75 signature boutiques across country, Lilly Pulitzer is available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus as well as upscale specialty shops and clubs nationwide.

    WREN

    Melissa Coker
Illinois native Melissa Coker coined her line after Jenny Wren, a winsome little Dickens character who crafted dresses for dolls. Thanks to the LA-based designer’s artistic dedication to “perfect imperfection” her efforts have quite literally been a style success! Sweet with a bit of edge, her collection is well-suited to today’s fashion savvy shopper. Favored by Hollywood It girls (Katie Holmes, Keira Knightley, Reese Witherspoon, Zooey Deschanel), the collection has been featured in magazines like Elle, Nylon, Marie Claire and Lucky. Recently named “one to watch” by the fashion industry bible, Women’s Wear Daily, Wren is available at Ron Herman and Bloomingdale’s.
