    May 2009 Romantic Ruffles

    Alfred Angelo

    Designer : Michael Shettel
As the vice president of design for Alfred Angelo, Michael Shettel’s goal is to make every bride look beautiful on her wedding day. The notable company is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2009. While reviewing their archives, as well as gowns that were used in films, such as “Father of the Bride” and “Little Women,” along with adaptations of famous royal wedding gowns, such as Grace Kelly’s and Sarah Ferguson’s, Shettel was inspired by their history and the glamour that went along with it. Blending the past with the present, he has created gowns made with special touches - delicate embroideries, crystal embellishments, beaded lace patterns and beautiful fabrics like soft taffeta and iridescent satin. For the iconic Alfred Angelo, it’s about introducing new classics with a modern fit.
